Implants With Snaps For Attachment To Denture Bar Attached To Implants With Three Snaps
With Implants - SINGLE IMPLANT ATTACHMENTS VS. BAR OVERDENTURE
Implant Retained Overdentures may be attached to individual attachments on the implants (see upper left and directly left) or to a bar joining the implants (see upper right).
Connecting implants with a bar has the advantage of distributing the forces of chewing between all of the implants but requires higher fees due to the increased laboratory costs. Distribution of chewing forces becomes important when the implants are short, of small diameter or when there are fewer implants available for use. The advantage of this method of treatment is that there may be a decrease in costs, treatment is simplified, and at times a patient's existing denture may be modified for use with relatively minor adjustments.
